Paulaner Bräuhaus to recreate Oktoberfest experience in Jakarta

Paulaner Bräuhaus, the only home of real German beer in Jakarta, will be delighting beer lovers and partygoers from around the world when its sensational Oktoberfest kicks off on September 24. This is perhaps the party of the year.




Paulaner Brewmaster, Arie Susanto, will kick-start the opening night with “Anstich”, which is tapping the first litre of his specially brewed Oktoberfest Bier. The ingredients are all brought in from Munich and brewed on site at Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta microbrewery.

To give this ultimate beer festival an extra-special Bavarian touch, the renowned German band Xelchten is being flown in by Lufthansa straight from Munich to Jakarta to keep revellers on their feet day and night. What’s more, funny Oktoberfestgames like beer glasses holding and beer chugging competition will bring out the naughty child in everyone.

“We are promising all the elements of a genuine Oktoberfest: women wearing dirndl dresses, men in traditional leather lederhosen, barrel after barrel of beer, delicious wurst and pork knuckle, and hour after hour of singing and dancing,” said Sri Murtana, Paulaner Restaurant Manager. And the party rocks on for five nights only from 24 until 28 September, challenging even the most hedonistic of happiness-seekers to keep pace. 

Entrance pass to the Paulaner Oktoberfest includes delicious family-style Bavarian food, free flow of special Oktoberfest Bier and priced at IDR 688,000 net per person. Meanwhile, group passes are available from IDR 5m net per table of 10 persons for companies and families looking to host guests and friends or to celebrate in a fun and memorable atmosphere—whatever the occasion.

About Oktoberfest Bier 

This beer is an institution: the Oktoberfest Bier from Paulaner, with its full-bodied, pleasant taste, pairs beautifully with Paulaner’s hearty delicacies like Hendln (roast chicken) or Schweinshaxen (pork knuckle). Its alcohol content of 5% per volume makes it somewhat stronger than the usual lager beer. The specific gravity of the Oktoberfest Beer is also slightly higher, starting at 13.5%. 'Ramadhan Festive' di JS Luwansa Hotel and Convention Center

8 Juli 2014. Waktu rasanya begitu cepat. Ini kali kedua bulan Ramadhan saya mendapat undangan untuk berbuka puasa bersama komunitas food blogger dari JS Luwansa Hotel and Convention Center. Bedanya, dulu bertempat di Shamma Restaurant, kali ini di Olam All Day Dining. 
Menilik namanya, restoran ini memang buka setiap hari mulai pukul 6 pagi sampai dengan pukul 11 malam, menawarkan berbagai menu pilihan favorit dari mulai prasmanan  hingga a la carte, menyajikan masakan lokal dan internasional.

Tiba di Olam All Day Dining, sambil menunggu bedug yang sebentar lagi tiba, saya mengambil dua makanan kecil favorit saya, apalagi kalo bukan bakwan dan samosa. Terus terang, belum pernah saya menemukan bakwan se-crispy ini. Maaf ya teman-teman, saya telah menghabiskan 4 bakwan dan 4 samosa untuk memulai ritual buka puasa ini! 


Hal lain yang paling saya sukai adalah, adanya jus kurma di Olam All Day Dining ini! Jarang-jarang ada sebuah restoran menyediakan jus kurma di bulan Ramadhan. Ini spesial banget! Setelah ritual tajil, saya mengunjungi stall kesukaan saya: Roasted Rib Eye dengan black pepper sauce. Untuk ini, saya cukup minta 5 iris saja... Enak? Please don't ask! 


Perlu teman-teman ketahui, saya tidak begitu favorit dengan makanan Jepang. Tapi display dari stall makanan ini terlalu menggiurkan untuk dilewatkan! Apalagi melihat California Roll dengan taburan wijen disekelilingnya. Ditambah dengan beberapa irisan tipis salmon, saya mengambil California Roll sebagai makanan kedua. Hmmm... enak, sumpah! Display-nya menggambarkan nyata bagaimana rasanya...


Oh ya, ternyata ada juga stall BBQ disini. Ada 3 macam pilihan: daging sirloin, ayam atau ikan. Akhirnya saya mencoba ayam yang dilanjutkan dengan daging sirlon... ditambah dengan mushroom sauce-nya yang magtig. Nyam-nyam!


Dessert time!  Ada banyak pilihan disini, tapi yang saya highlite disini adalah Bread and Butter Pudding-nya yang disajikan hangat-hangat. Wow! Ada juga irisan taart coklat, puding, aneka buah segar dan jajanan pasar yang menggugah selera!.

Oh ya, jangan lupa, disini juga ada spot yang pas untuk pesta BBQ dengan menu yang terdiri dari appetizer, sup, salad, main course dan dessert, yang bisa menampung hingga 50 pax. Nuansa malam dengan  pemandangan gemerlap kota Jakarta tentu akan menjadi pengalaman berkesan di tempat ini!
Selain datang beramai-ramai, tempat ini juga pas bagi pasangan yang menginginkan suasana romantis, karena didukung dengan pemandangan gedung pencakar langit di malam hari dan privasi yang terjaga.

Paulaner Bräuhaus brings Bavaria right into the heart of Jakarta!

Jakarta, 7 November 2013 – Bavaria’s biggest brewer, Paulaner International, has reopened Jakarta’s only microbrewery restaurant in a new location on Floor 2 East Mall Grand Indonesia Shopping Town overlooking the capital’s landmark Bundaran HI.
Operating under Hotel Indonesia Kempinski Jakarta management, the reopening of Paulaner Bräuhaus was well-anticipated by its huge following. Hotel management received more than a hundred emails during the renovation from people who said they missed Paulaner Bräuhaus.



Paulaner Bräuhaus is housed in a 1,100-square-metre rustic space with exposed brick walls, and the copper and steel brewing tanks are showcased at its centre. The restaurant features seating for up 400 guests, including a private dining room and stage where live music is performed nightly.
 



Of course, what they missed was the beer. Paulaner Bräuhaus features home-brewed beers, including the classic Munich Lager, Munich Dark, as well as seasonal brews such as Oktoberfest and Maibock.
Paulaner brewmaster, Arie Susanto, oversees the on-site microbrewery, which features customised brewing equipment designed by Kaspar Schulz, a German company that has been building brewery plants and equipment since 1677. The centuries old traditional Bavarian beer recipe is followed using imported ingredients from Germany. The beer is not filtered and contains no preservatives.


“Home-brewed beer simply tastes better than bottled beer,” said Susanto. “Bottled beer is filtered. Our beer is served fresh from the brewery so it is smooth, savoury and smells crisp.” 
Arie Susanto’s peers nicknamed him “the beer doctor”, as he planned to study at medical school before switching his major to beer engineering at Technische Universitat Munchen in Germany. Susanto was the only Indonesian to study the subject and the only one in the world to become a professional brewmaster.
Susanto has not always been a beer lover, but since finding his vocation, he has developed a taste for it. This hardworking brewmaster sticks to half a litre per day. 
And what better way to enjoy beer than with a plate of hearty home-cooked food? The menu is contemporary Bavarian cuisine. The extensive menu caters to a variety of tastes and includes, sausages, sauerkraut, schnitzelecke, salads, etc. The emphasis here is on good, genuine fare, not food that is cooked by the book—it is cooked with feeling.

About Master Butcher Patrik Quinter
Butchery runs in Patrik’s family, as his father and brother are also in the trade. Devoted to his job, this Swiss master craftsman can create 50,000 sausages in one day using 250 kilograms of meat. No mean feat for our expert butcher who also spent time at Paulaner Bräuhaus Beijing. At one point, Patrik gave up butchery to work in a bank, however he found he missed his trade so much that he returned six years later. An expert in his field, he can distinguish between meats simply by touch and can tell the age of a cow simply by examining its teeth. That said, his favourite meat for sausages is pork.
